Every time you don’t follow your dream, your inner voice, or your personal goals, you lose energy and power. Knowing what you want and learning how to get it gives you the creative energy to move forward and the power to be yourself.
- Make a list on a sheet of paper of five activities you did on a certain day;
- Write next to each entry how much time it took;,
- Make a list on the other side of the paper ten activities you enjoy doing;
- Next to each to each entry write the date when you last did that activity.
- Look at your two lists. What do they tell you?
- List ten tiny changes you want to make by completing this phrase: I would like to__________________
- Make that your goal for a week.
Does even one accomplishment make you feel more powerful? Does that power rev you up and give you energy? With practice and a plan, even these few simple steps can help you begin to move forward. The art of possibility is there for you to acknowledge and act on if you are willing to make small changes. Staying closed and inactive keeps you powerless with no gains.
Just Get Started
You don’t have to be a perfectionist to achieve your goals, you just have to get started. Safety is an expensive place to be stuck. It takes you nowhere and the cost is boredom and loss of time. If you do make mistakes or fail to accomplish something, consider that as a way to learn, discover, and grow. Look at the risks involved as you take new steps and accept that anything you want to do is worth trying whole-heartedly and without the need for perfection.
